As of 9/95 it was overgrown with trees, shrubs and brush. 1/96 it has now been cleared off pretty good- grave was located by Doris Witthoft and husband, Herman.

NOTE: Doris & Herman Witthoft visited the Methodist cemetery, 27 June 1996. The church is no longer there. Probably torn down in the 1960-70's. The cemetery land is overgrown with brush and young trees. I believe that in the Fall of 1995 someone had the lot cleared, but now new growth of weeds, brush and young trees are starting to grow. It was difficult to get around, but we finally found one grave marker. It was about 3 feet high, 8 inches wide on all four sides, and it was off its base. Two names were inscribed on it. James W. Hendrix, born 1819, was very clear. I struggled, but managed to turn it over and it was difficult to read the other name. It was "Catherine, born 1821". We didn't find any other grave markers.

She went alone and on horseback, fording every stream between Trenton and Bath, with the exception of the Trent and the Moira, over which she was ferried. "The death of Mr. John Bleecker of Trenton is announced as having occurred on the afternoon of the 25th instant. Mr. Bleecker was one of the oldest settlers in this section of the country and is said to have been the first white child born in the County of Prince Edward."

IDENTITY: Elizabeth is identified in her father's will in 1838 and her brother, Leonard's, will in 1846 as deceased. The grandfather's will stated that her 2 children were to have a home with their uncle, Leonard, until until they become of age, so probably their father had died by 1838 also.
