Built in 1909, the library was the gift of Joseph H. Reaney as a memorial to his mother. In 1937 an addition was built to provide museum space and increase library facilities.

The library, a member of Mohawk Valley Library Association, offers a wide variety of services.

The museum houses rare books, genealogical records, paintings, bronzes, glass, china, military buttons, Indian artifacts and many other articles of significance to Mohawk Valley history.
