He died 7 Jun 1795 in Rhinebeck, Dutchess Co., NY, USA and was buried Jun 1795 in Rhinebeck, Dutchess Co., NY, USA.

BAPTISM: "1709, 25 February, baptism of Matthias, son of Lorenz Brog & Anna Maria. Sponsors: Lorenz Geiger? & Anna Maria, Joseph.....wife."

NOTE: At the baptism of his son Jurgen Adam, 1 September 1751, his name is listed as "Mathias Proof". Also, Kinship in their transcription of the Reformed Church churchbook, Rhinebeck Flatts, Rhinebeck, Dutchess Co., NY, says: "Prog, Proof, Proog, etc. - see BROCK". Mildred, maybe this will be of some help to us?

BIRTH: Mildred Sussell says d/o/b is 23 February 1708, computed from age at death. She also cites Munsell's "AMERICAN ANCAESTRY" which says his d/o/b is 16 August 1708. Age "87y 3mo 14da".

BURIAL: Cemetery at St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Wurtemburg, Rhinebeck, Dutchess Co., NY USA.

Matthias and Christina had the following children:

+ 10 M i. Matthew (Progue) BROG-170 was born 10 Oct 1744 and died 21 Sep 1795.

+ 11 M ii. Peter BROG-31621 was born about 1747.

BAPTISM: Recorded: Reformed Church, Rhinebeck Flats, Rhinebeck, Dutchess Co., NY USA. Parents: "Mattheues (Proof) Brog, Christina Margreta Waltermeyer". (Name transcribed as "Proof", but believe it is "Brog". NOTE: Churchbook gives d/o/b as 13 July 1755. Mildred Sussell says that she believes the gravestone says "16 July".

BURIAL: Church yard cemetery at St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Wurtemberg, Rhinebeck, Dutchess Co., NY USA. Buried with his mother.

MARRIAGE: At the baptism of "Maragrita" Brog, the sponsors were "Peter Progg and wife, Elilzabeth Velett". This was my clue as to the identification of Peter's wife.

+ 15 F vi. Margaretha BROG-7643 was born about 1756.

8. George (Jury) WALDENMEYER-78 (Johan Georg, Matthaeus) was born before 1720 in , , , Germany. He died 25 Jul 1796 in Rhinebeck, Dutchess, NY, USA and was buried 28 Jul 1796 in Rhinebeck, Dutchess Co., NY, USA.

DATA: From a publication, "Rhinebeck Tax Lists, Includes: Rhinebeck, Red Hook", by Clifford M. Buck, states "Waltemeyer, Jury 1743/44 - Feb 1761." This means that he was the owner of real estate and first paid real estate taxes for the year 1743/44 and continued on the tax rolls until Feb 1761. There are other names listed as paying taxes after 1764 so it means that he ceased to own real estate in this town. (Mildred Sussell doesn't believe that he moved to Columbia Co., NY, as he did live in another Dutchess Co. town, T-Washington. Mildred thinks that his wife Margaret did move to Columbia Co., NY, to be near her children there, but the land metioned in her estate settlement was in Dutchess Co., NY USA.)
